A Wonder to behold

There is at present in the neighbouring village of Westhead, in the greenhouse of Mr. Edward Ormesher, a rose tree that has made remarkable growth and which is well worthy of an inspection by those interested in horticulture.

The rose, Marechal Niel, was purchased 4 years ago from Mr. Brown, and now covers a space nearly 600 square feet in area.  Last year upwards of 1100 blooms were cut, and this year it is expected that at least 2000 flowers will be brought to perfection.

We had often heard of the tree but this week we paid a visit, and we have no hesitation in repeating the words of Mr. Ormesher, that it is a wonder to behold.

The greenhouse has already been specially doubled in size for this rose, and we understand that it will be further enlarged this year.  The owner is justly proud of his rose, and accordingly is pleased to exhibit it to any one desirous of seeing it.
