Does anyone know of a photo of the front of the house known as Moss Bank which stood in Long Lane until the early 1960s? Also does anyone know where I can see a copy of a book written by D K Hutton called The Hutton Family. It was a limited edition and is mentioned in David Orritt's book on the history of Ormskirk Grammar school.

Linda, you will find a photo in a book - "Britain In Old Photographs ORMSKIRK & DISTRICT" by Mona Duggan in 1995. Published by Alan Sutton Publishing Limited.
Mona wrote many books and they are very popular so should be easily found through bookshops or online.
Below the photo is the following:
The photo shows Morris Dancing by the Belles of Aughton from Christ Church School, 1929. The setting was Moss Bank, the home of the Hutton family in Long Lane, Aughton. The occasion was a summer gala organised by Harold Hutton on behalf of Ormskirk Scouts.

If you have problem finding it let me know.
Norma Gregson.
