The family Bible belonging to William Turner born in Lathom (1847-1902) and Margaret Disley, his wife, born in Burscough (1848-1927) has been given to a very tenuous relative who is distantly related by marriage to one of William and Margaret's sons in law. The pages are well preserved, but the binding is not. Its dimensions are approximately 15" x 9" x 5". It includes information about Births, Marriages and Deaths for the Turners and their children.
The current owner is keen that the Bible should be returned to a closer descendant of William and Margaret. William and Margaret's children were as follows:
Alice Turner (1871-1918) married John Whittle
Hannah Turner(1872-1945) married James Hewitt
Ellen Turner (1847-1957) married George Worfolk
Benjamin Turner (1875-1879)
Elizabeth Turner (1877-1879)
Elizabeth Turner (1879-1948) married Ernest Johnston
Margaret Turner (1881 - ?) married John Hickling
Benjamin Turner(1883-1955) married Florence Billington
Bessie Turner (1885-1908)
Jessie Turner (1887-1954) married Fred Mayor
Thomas Turner (1889 - ?) married Gertrude Fisher
Is any member of the Society related to the Turners and would like the Bible?
