I have been researching my family history for some years now and discovered that my grandfather Patrick Dolan and his brother James came over to England from Mayo, Ireland early in the 20th C. They appear in the 1901 and 1911 Census living in Brookfield Lane, Aughton. For some reason my grandfather is listed as John and although he had a brother John he would have been too young at the time .I don't know if they were here all that time or if they came over each year to work on the farms. I would be interested to know of any records I could access which would give me more information about my grandfather,s time in Aughton.
