We are researching the Holmes Family related to William Holmes/Hulmes baptised in Ormskirk. He emmigrated to Sydney Australia and his story is written up here : australianmuseum.net.au/blogpost/explore/william-holmes-enigma

If anyone on the ground in Ormskirk can assist please make contact.

It is a shame that all the previous history and notices have been removed with the creation of the new website, what a great loss of information for researches who also saw this information and requesrs as a good basis for membership.

Hello Martin,

Thanks for your message; I'm not sure whether or not you will have seen it, but there was an article about William Holmes, his family and their Australian connections in the most recent edition of our magazine (Issue 76, March 2018), so we would be more than happy to include a related item in our next edition, if that would be useful. Anything for the magazine can be sent directly to me.

Please bear with us regarding the archived messages; the Society has only just reinstated the message board in the past few weeks, so we may be able to make it possible for visitors to access them again in the near future.
